Unfitted bridges are not available for immediate use. As a rule feet need to be fitted to the table of the instruments and the height, curvature and thickness needs to be adjusted. This is a procedure that would normally be carried out by an experienced craftsman. If this is not possible a fitted or adjustable bridge would be a better option although these very often need some adjustment to accommodate differences between instruments.

Adjustable Aubert Violin Bridge
Medium quality maple, hardened using a procedure specially developed by Aubert to improve stabilty and tone.
This bridge comes fitted and ready to use. The feet are set into wooden joints in the legs, allowing them to be adjusted to the arch of an instrument's top. Adjust the feet carefully, keeping in mind that a violin bridge must be able to stand 8 to 9 kg of pressure (4/4 violin). Always recheck the placement of the feet, as a mal-adjusted bridge can cause damage to the top of an instrument. In addition, the bridge height must be selected carefully. A 1mm difference in height can affect playability, an instrument's tone and the amount of pressure transferred to the top (approx, 0.2 kg per 1mm height increase). Therefore this "ready to use" model is offered in 5 different heights.
