  • Hello,

The London Symphony Orchestra, at Abbey Road Hall, recorded three symphonic
poems by Richard Englefield. The session was combined with the esteemed
Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic's recording of two symphonic poems and Englefield's 4th
    Symphony, for a CD.

The Seattle Symphony's Simon James performed Englefield's Violin Concerto
with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. The SRSO also recorded Englefield's
    Symphony No. 3.

Today we introduce you to the new American composer who's music is very
highly regarded in London, Czech Republic, Bratislava, the USA and abroad. It
is a matter of history in the making. We are sure you would like to tune in
on events as they are unfolding.

You may have a closer look at Richard Hastings Englefield by visiting his web
     site at:

    www.symphonybyenglefield.com

At the attractive web site will be found links to Mr. Englefield's
autobiography (Synopsis & Forward), his available symphonies on CD and a link to a
wonderfully gifted and talented fellow named Simon James who performed
Englefield's Violin Concerto with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. Simon James hails
from Australia and, in addition to being a principal violin for the Seattle
Symphony, is CEO and concert master for the Northwest Symphonia Orchestra.

The story is well worth your visit. Feel free to forward this announcement to

  • Dear Richard,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my inquiry.  The instrument is in need of some repair but is
worth the expense I think because of its sentimental value.  I will follow your advice and contact Mr. Grieve
    next time I'm in Toronto.
Thanks again for your prompt feedback.
    Yours sincerely,
    Marc Nadeau
  • Richard,
Thank you for the appraisal of one of my violins. I bought it privately and had a rough idea of time period and so on.  Thank you again for the appraisal.

  • Hi!
Thanks for your letter/circular. I've had a look at the site. Looks very professional and no doubt will attract interest with the online valuation idea.

Thanks for putting us up on your dealer page. For the time being we have just advertised other dealers with links to violin and Gallery Strings web ring.

Good luck with it all. I'll have to call in when I'm in Bristol and introduce myself!
